Good Game

I thought this was a pretty good game for much of the time I played it, the artwork on this was very good and everything, which is nice to see here. Though the further you got in this, the more annoying it got with customers wanting to use something that was in use then getting angry, maybe it would be good to add some forms of entertainment or more than one of the same item.

Other than that though, I thought everything here was pretty good, everything ran smooth for me and it's not a hard game to learn, infact I picked much of it up without reading the instructions to it, lol. So overall I would say this was a pretty good game, just got a bit tedious after a while.

Alright

I still think this is somewhat lacking though, I don't know I mean you have plenty of information and it's good to see you are talking about whistling submissions and how to. Still not too keen on all the text though and the red font doesn't work too well with the orange background. The audio is fine, which is great to have and all, as well as a mute button.

You added a quiz to this which is good but one major problem with this is that the questions aren't based on the information in the flash. I would suggest basing questions on the content of the flash, but it's good the way it seems to have been done with a try again method. Although still somewhat simple, a scoring system and such would be decent.

Not sure what more you could really add to this, a more entertaining way to present the main information would be a decent idea. I mean the quiz is a simple way to get information across but surly you can think of some clever way to get the main talking parts across. Try some wacky animation some time with some way of bringing points in.

Thanks for the review!

I know the animation is still a little weak, but I'm still learning at the moment, so I'm making baby steps in terms of animation.

Okay

You have quite a bit of information in this, which is good and everything to help people judge what is an abusive review and then work out what isn't, it's just a shame this is all text, for myself I find chunks of text hard to read after a while. I would suggest throwing some images in there, even just a background image or design, just to give something else to look at while reading.

The audio was fine, no problems with that, but a mute button would have been good to have. The buttons worked fine going back and forth between pages, so again, nothing wrong with that. The actual content was decent enough to get an idea, though one other thing you could do is expand on the examples, like giving real examples as oppose to a brife summary.

I would also suggest putting a game in this, like a short little quiz or something, just to see if the viewer has lernt anything from it as well as giving them something else to do after reading. But that's entirly your choice, maybe you'll use those in future if you do another.

Hey, thanks for the review!

Those are some good suggestions, and I'll definitely see about including them in future projects. I'm pleased that you found it to be ok in light of it being my first submission,

Nice Work

This is a pretty good game, although one thing I would really suggest with this game is that you find a diffrent jump or switch button because I kept finding myself acidently pressing shift instead of z which made things a little slow. Although there wasn't really anything to worry about time wise which was good to see in this game, some have timers and I find that annoying.

The graphics here where pretty good and the music was decent too, I don't remember there being any sound effects when I was playing this though, I would suggest having those in for fun. The graphics here are decent and look good to me, the animation of everything is also pretty nice, so overall, very good work on this game.

Nothing New

There's nothing really new to this that hasn't been said in the FAQ or in other flash like this, although you have included some of the old images that where used on Newgrounds, which is a pretty good idea. One problem with the old ones though is you included the mod aura, there was no mod aura in the old Newgrounds so this is somewhat misleading and should have a notice there saying that these never existed.

Everything else though is pretty standard, I can't say I gained anything I didn't know already from this. Presentation wise you almost have it too, you just need to find a smoother font and put the info in Newgrouns style boxes, just to make it look a bit neater.

This might be helpful to some people, but you could explain parts a little more, especilly with the old images, like say what the gems where for. As well as putting a little more information on the blam and protect ranks, maybe say how many points are required to get them, that would also help.

Okay

As far as soundboards go, this works and is well what I would expect from a soundboard, there is nothing really wrong with the whole thing, decent audio and everything. Although, the buttons are kind of an off colour, I would suggest yellow for those or something a little simler to that because as they are, they don't fit in. Also, make the image a button as oppose to the text because if you hover over part with no text, you can't click it.

Other than the look and such of the button, they fit down the screen pretty well and keep the image in the centre looking fine which is decent quality in itself. I wasn't so sure about the extra in this, it wasn't really ammusing or worth watching, so eh. Everything else worked fine and as a soundboard yeah, this is okay.

Decent Scene Creator

As far as scene creators go and other forms of flash like this, I generally don't like them but this one seems to be decent enough. There are plenty of options here and everything seems to work fine for me, also I like the fact that you have a mute button in this, lol. The tools you have are decent and can get everything done fine, infact you seem to have something for everything that someone would need which is good.

Although some of the backgrounds and such don't look all that great, there is plenty of choice for objects and such, so someone could create a decent scene with this. Although you could add a way for users to recolour objects and drawing their own backgrounds, that would be good if you could. But otherwise, good work, a bit laggy at times though.

Some drawing tools would be good, but complicated and by the way when it goes that way, it would maybe be pretty much doing a scene from scratch. Thanks for your review, and I'll try to improve the graphics.

Much Work Needed

This needs quite a bit of work doing to it, the questions are okay so that's a good thing about it, I mean although I don't know to much, they are still okay. Presentation is a major problem with this I feel, the background isn't that good, seems to be far too simple as with the menu and intro ones, so work on that, maybe improve the buttons a little if you can, just make it look nice.

When you get a question wrong, you go back to the first question, how about just going back one question? I don't know about everyone else but starting all over again annoys me a lot. The images for getting one right could be presented better too, maybe a frame in a gallery or something, be creative, don't just slap a picture on and expect it to look nice.

The music, well, I have to say it did kind of start to get annoying after a while, not to easy to listen to for me. Try to use something more ambiant and have a mute button too, maybe even have multiple audio tracks, you can find some good tracks in the audio portal.

Not Bad

There are many things about this that you could improve on though, I mean to start with though, it can be quite a hard game at parts, not hard to work out how to play but hard to find, though you might want the button to stand out a little to give a chance, I don't mean make it obvious but just to stand out a little more, on easy mode anyway. The pictures used where pretty good too, so no problems with that and the music was okay.

One thing I'm not to keen on is the overall layout of the whole thing, the menu just looks really basic and thrown together, no real structure to it. Try to add a nice background to the menu and some plesent looking buttons, just so they look nicer, I mean that would really help, not just plain white with badly colour buttons, no offence, lol.

The idea of diffrent levels of difficulty is good but maybe some other modes too, like a timed mode or something, just to give someone a little more to do. I don't know about everyone else, but if I can't do something, I get bored and just close, adding a timed mode means they have to work it out in that time and try again if they can't do it.

EmmDubya responds:

Thanks! This has helped a lot. I agree with the menu. If my brother didn't get me to put in then it would've had another blank background. I have considered adding a time mode and if I get a script for it before the next one then I will. I might just add a clock so people can time themselves.

Nothing New

Pardon me for not really liking this or finding it all that intresting but from what I can say is that there is nothing really new here, there are many sprite tutorials around and well this might explain it a little diffrently, it isn't really all that new to me. That's the major problem with it, other than that though, the presentation seems okay, but I question the use of the Wright sprite.

The lack of audio although does make it smaller, it also makes it less intresting, try to find a small loop and use that for audio and add a mute button for people who don't want to hear the audio. Everything else seems to look okay and explained pretty well too, although I'd do it a diffrent way, everyone is diffrent.

Some parts ARE new. I checked almost all sprite toturials and they skipped a few things. Oh and almost no constructive criticism in sight.

This water is making my head feel really funny, what did you put in it?
